    Date with a Demo:

    Your song will be selected at random and our panel will provide you with feedback. Even if you do not have a song to submit, the conversation around the songs are invaluable for all delegates.

    THINGS TO REMEMBER for FRIDAY:

    Date with a Demo song – register it at check-in with 5 copies of lyrics.

    Ask lots of questions, even if you think they are silly, someone else is thinking it too!

    Meet your fellow SongRisers and sit with someone new at supper.

  • Yes! The cost for registration on Friday alone is $150.

  • Workshops & Sessions:

    We will start the day in the Grimshaw Multiplex Atrium to chat about what songwriting etiquette means for you and your co-writers. Then you will be grouped into 3 or 4 and have the day to write your song. You will be given topics and/or title to choose from to help you get started. Our mentors will circulate to each group to guide and inspire you. A buffet lunch will be available at noon and groups will break as they wish. Once you are finished your song, you will record it and then have a run through on the main stage in the Fieldhouse. We will not sound check, but you will get a chance to rehearse on stage!

    Concert:

    You get to perform the song you wrote with your group! It is a magical songwriters showcase experience that will amaze you and your fans! Then we give the stage to the Local Legends and the Pros then finish strong with The Honey Cowboy and an “all play” jam and open mic!

    THINGS TO REMEMBER for SATURDAY:

    Be on time Saturday morning!

    Bring paper, pencils, instruments, and an open mind.

    Relax and go with the flow ☺

    Invite your fans to the concert!

    Have fun!

  • No. To attend the Saturday writing sessions and concert, you must also attend Friday.

  • Costs:

    Friday & Saturday $295

    Guardian Price $75

    Friday ONLY $150

    Please note: Registrants who are 14 to 17 years of age must have a guardian to register for the additional cost of $75, which also includes all of the Friday sessions and a concert ticket. Guardians are welcome to sessions on Friday, but Saturday afternoon sessions are for songwriters only, and this would be a great time to check out some of what Grimshaw has to offer!

    NOT Included:

    Dinner on Saturday is on your own.

  • Yes! But if you are between the ages of 14-17 you MUST also be accompanied by a Guardian at an extra cost.

  • No! We will be sure to team you up with people who do.

  • The Coast Hotel

    Peace River is a 15 minute drive and has many accommodations available.
